This roadside station sits along the Agano River, with views surrounded by river and mountains. It also serves as the departure point for the Agano River Line boat cruises, and simply watching boats set off from the dock gives you a real sense of travel. Inside, local Niigata sake, rice, and locally grown vegetables and processed goods line the shelves, making it a fun place to pick out souvenirs. The dining area serves dishes made with local ingredients, perfect for lunch before the pool. Step out onto the riverside deck and the breeze off the water feels great, making it easy to take a break even on a hot day.

Tips

If you plan to take the boat cruise, it takes about 40 minutes, so watch your time budget on days when the pool is planned for the afternoon. Service can change depending on the river's water level, so it's a good idea to check in advance. Parking is free, and the pool is about a 15-minute drive away.
