Shonan Coast Park Pool is a seasonal outdoor pool within Hiratsuka City's Shonan Coast Park, open in 2026 from Monday, July 27 to Sunday, August 16. Located in a park facing Sagami Bay, its unique appeal is being able to play in the water while feeling the scent of the sea and the ocean breeze. Unlike swimming in the ocean, you don't need to worry about waves or currents, so it's a relaxed spot to spend time even with small children. The coastline and pine grove nearby also make for a pleasant walk after getting out of the water. Since the opening period is only about three weeks, once you decide to go this summer, it's best to lock in your schedule early.

The sunlight and wind are strong along the coast, so reapply sunscreen frequently and protect your skin with a rash guard. Parking gets crowded on summer vacation weekends and holidays, so arriving early or using public transportation is recommended. The pool may close in case of thunder or strong wind.

About 3 hours 30 minutes. In the afternoon, the sea breeze picks up, making it more comfortable as the sunlight softens toward evening.
