About this spot

An illumination that wraps the entire Yokohama Timber Wharf (横浜ティンバーワーフ), standing on the waterfront of the Shinko area, in light -- a fittingly harbor-town display. It is usually held from late November through mid-January (in the 2025-26 season, from November 29 to January 18); as the 2026-27 season dates and lighting hours have not yet been announced, please check the official website. Viewing is free. The highlight is the combination of the warm wooden buildings and pier with the lights reflected on the water's surface, and you can enjoy the Minato Mirai night view together with it.

Season & hours

Tips

The waterfront can be windy and cold, so gloves and a scarf are reassuring to have. Approaching from the Red Brick Warehouse (赤レンガ倉庫) side makes for a pleasant walk with harbor night views along the way.

Best time to visit

Early evening, right after the lights come on. The magic hour, when a hint of blue still remains in the sky, is the most photogenic.
