About this spot

This is the main building of Miura City's library, located inside the City Hall Second Annex in Shiroyama-chō, overlooking Misaki Port. Housed in a former junior high school building, it has a nostalgic feel, with bookshelves lining what were once classrooms. It also has shelves of picture books and children's books, making it a perfect spot for parents and children to spend a quiet afternoon in the port town. The main building is open from 9:00 to 17:00. There is also a Hasshō Branch (10:00 to 17:00, until 19:00 on Tuesdays and Fridays) in the Hasshō district near Misakiguchi Station, which you can also stop by on your way home.

Season & hours

Tips

The library is closed on Mondays, on the monthly organizing day at the end of the month, on public holidays, and during the New Year holidays (December 27 to January 4). The main building closes at 17:00, so allow plenty of time when visiting in the afternoon.
