About this spot

This free-admission exhibition facility is located at the Miyagase Dam site. Models and hands-on exhibits let you learn about how the dam works and the role of water and energy in a fun way, and the cool interior makes it a perfect stop on a hot day. Opening hours are 9:00-17:00 from April to November (10:00-16:00 from December to March), and it is closed on Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a holiday) and during the New Year holidays. Right nearby, the massive dam body of Miyagase Dam towers overhead, offering an impressive view when you look up at it.

Tips

Note that the museum is closed on Mondays. Seeing the dam body up close is truly impressive in scale — a great spot for a commemorative photo.
