About this spot

This observation facility is attached to Sounzan Station (早雲山駅), where the Hakone Ropeway and the cable car connect. From the observation terrace at this high-elevation station, you can take in views of the Gora (強羅) townscape and toward Sagami Bay (相模湾), while soaking your feet in the free foot bath. The observation terrace is open 9:00-16:45, and the foot bath is open 9:00-16:00 (hours vary by season). There is also a shop and a drink stand, making it a perfect place for a break before heading to Owakudani (大涌谷).

Tips

It's handy to bring a small towel for the foot bath. From here, taking the ropeway lets you enjoy an aerial ride all the way to Owakudani (大涌谷).
