This former villa of Marquis Kuroda Nagashige stands on a hill adjoining Odawara Castle (小田原城). It now operates as a restaurant, with lunch served 11:00-15:00 (last order 14:00) and the storehouse cafe (蔵カフェ) open 11:00-17:00. Dinner is by reservation only (17:00-21:00), and on Sundays only lunch is served; closures are irregular. Gazing toward the sea through the garden from the sukiya-style tatami rooms, which make the most of the natural texture of wood, offers a side of Odawara's charm quite different from the castle's stone walls. Parking is also available.
