About this spot

A museum dedicated to dolls, standing at the foot of Yamashita Bridge (山下橋) on the east side of Yamashita Park. It displays a wide-ranging collection from folk dolls of the world to traditional Japanese dolls and character dolls, enjoyable for both children and adults. Open 9:30-17:00 (admission until 16:30), closed Mondays (closed the following day if Monday is a holiday); admission is 400 yen for adults and 200 yen for elementary and junior high school students. Since it's an indoor facility, it also works well as a rest stop before night-view time.

Tips

Admission is until 16:30, so visit with plenty of time to spare before night-view time. Since it's indoors, it's a reassuring stop even if the weather turns bad.

Best time to visit

Afternoon. The time just before closing tends to be relatively uncrowded.
