About this spot

A church built in 1882, designed and overseen by the French missionary Father Marc Marie de Rotz. It is one of the component assets of the Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region (長崎と天草地方の潜伏キリシタン関連遺産), standing on a hill overlooking the settlements of Sotome.

Tips

As this is an active church, visiting the interior requires prior contact with the Hidden Christian Sites Information Center for the Nagasaki Region (095-823-7650). It cannot be visited during Mass.

Daytime, combined with a stroll through the Sotome settlements
