About this spot

A hot spring town with over 800 years of history since its founding. It is also a certified 'Furusato Ikimono no Sato' firefly habitat designated by the Ministry of the Environment, and is introduced on Yonezawa City's official website as a place where you can enjoy earthly lights (fireflies) and heavenly stars at the same time.

Tips

It's recommended to warm up with a day-trip bath at an inn before looking up at the night sky (please check reception hours with each inn). As this is a residential and inn district, please keep quiet at night.
