About this spot

You can tour the sulfur-flower production huts, a tradition dating back 300 years to the Edo period. The large communal bath offers a sweeping view of the city of Beppu.

Tips

Touring the sulfur-flower huts is free (8:30-18:00). Day-use bathing is 600 yen for adults, 300 yen for children, 10:00-21:00 (last entry 20:00).

Best time to visit

Afternoon (around 15:00). Day-use bathing accepts guests until 20:00.
