About this spot
First lit in 1901 (Meiji 34), the oldest lighthouse in Oita Prefecture. It stands adjacent to Sekizaki Kaiseikan at the tip of a cape overlooking the Bungo Channel.
Tips
The parking lot is shared with Sekizaki Kaiseikan. Some areas underfoot are uneven, so wear comfortable walking shoes.
Best time to visit
Evening (around 15:30). The sea view is beautiful before sunset
