About this spot

The facility has an astronomical observation building called Tateyama Dome, equipped with a 600mm-diameter reflecting telescope along with other refracting and reflecting telescopes and binoculars. You can enjoy the stars in an environment with little ambient light.

Season & hours

Tips

🚨 Advance application is mandatory (via the official website's application form). Same-day walk-in participation is not possible. A full-fledged observation session using the telescopes requires a separate request for a stargazing instructor (6,050 yen per instructor). Be sure to bring warm clothing.

Best time to visit

The program is available year-round. The start time is decided in consultation with the instructor at the time of your advance application.
