About this spot

An observatory equipped with the largest reflecting telescope in Oita Prefecture, with a 65cm aperture. It holds daytime and nighttime stargazing sessions every day with no reservation required.

Season & hours

Tips

Stargazing costs 500 yen for adults, 300 yen for high school students, and 200 yen for elementary and junior high school students (elementary and junior high students must be accompanied by a guardian); no reservation required. Closed every Tuesday (or the following weekday if Tuesday is a public holiday).
