北陸新幹線とハピラインふくい、JR小浜線が集まる敦賀市の玄関口です。駅前には観光案内所と交流施設があり、市内めぐりの起点になります。東浦地区へはここからコミュニティバス「東浦線」に乗ります。駐車場のないみかん園へ向かうことを考えると、公共交通を軸に一日を組み立てると安心です。
