About this spot

This is a small unstaffed station on the Wakasa Railway's Wakasa Line (若桜線), where a charming wooden station building dating from the Taisho era remains. Because it shares its name with the Hayabusa, Suzuki's large motorcycle, it has become known as a pilgrimage site visited by riders from across the country, and the station front is never without people enjoying commemorative photos with their motorcycles. Beside the platform stands a display train car that is also used for overnight stays, and inside the station building there is a visitors' notebook and goods. The station itself, standing alone amid tranquil rural scenery, is picturesque, making it a beloved landmark station for train lovers and riders alike.

Tips

Since it is an unstaffed station, prepare your ticket in advance. If arriving by train, checking the return timetable beforehand is reassuring. Please take turns with others when photographing in the station-front space. There are homes nearby, so enjoy the visit quietly.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. In the afternoon, light wraps around the front of the station building, making for beautiful commemorative photos with the station name sign.
