揖斐郡大野町西方にある国指定史跡の古墳群です。揖斐川と根尾川に挟まれた平地に、前方後円墳を含む古墳がまとまって残っています。田畑の中に木々に覆われた墳丘がいくつも並ぶ景色は独特で、5世紀ごろにこの地域を治めた勢力の大きさをうかがわせます。周囲に高い建物がなく、伊吹山や養老山地の稜線まで見渡せる開けた場所です。

古墳のまわりは農地です。畦道に入らず、道路や見学路から眺めましょう。
