About this spot

A 7-minute ropeway ride from the base takes you to an observation terrace at 452 meters elevation. On clear days, enjoy stunning 360-degree panoramic views of Mount Fuji, Suruga Bay, and the Amagi mountain range—recognized as one of Izu's most spectacular viewpoints. The hilltop also features foot baths and a cafe where you can relax in the cool mountain breeze. It's the perfect starting point to grasp the full picture of Izu no Kuni before the evening fireworks display.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Izu Nagaoka Station; a shuttle bus also runs to the ropeway station. Temperatures at the summit may be cooler than at the base, so bring a light jacket for comfort.

About 1 hour 30 minutes. Morning air is crisp, making distant views particularly clear
