徳川家康が伏見に開いた学問所を起源とする禅寺で、江戸時代初期の学者たちも学びました。紅葉の見頃は例年11月中旬から11月下旬。庭園を赤く染める散りもみじと、栖龍池の水面に映りこむ紅葉が見どころです。
