琵琶湖から京都へ水を引いた琵琶湖疏水の歴史を紹介する京都市の施設で、入館は無料です。すぐそばには全長582メートルの傾斜鉄道跡「蹴上インクライン」が保存されており、線路の上を自由に散策できます。
Tips
開館は9時から17時(入館は16時30分まで)、月曜休館。南禅寺へは「ねじりまんぽ」というトンネルを抜けて向かうのが定番ルートです。
