Centered around the Shimin Matsuri Ashizuri Matsuri Summer Festival Fireworks held on August 1, 2026 (Saturday), this course lets you enjoy the entire day experiencing the nature and bounty of the Ashizuri Cape area. In the afternoon, head to Ashizuri Cape (足摺岬), the southernmost tip of Kochi Prefecture, and savor the dramatic cliff scenery and the Ashizuri Cape Lighthouse. Walk through the grounds of John Manjiro's bronze statue and Kongofukuji Temple to touch upon Tosa's history. In the evening, enjoy Kochi's seafood near Shimizu Port before heading out. As night falls, settle into the area around Shikajima Island at Shimizu Port to watch the summer fireworks display light up the night sky with approximately 7,000 fireworks blooms, accompanied by the ocean breeze. This is a plan to indulge in the summer of Tosa Shimizu by combining spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean with the impressive fireworks display.
