Tateyama (立山): A Day in the Great Nature of Shomyo Falls (称名滝) and the Tateyama Foothills
This family day-trip course is all about experiencing the great nature of the Tateyama (立山) foothills, aiming for Shomyo Falls (称名滝), Japan's tallest waterfall with a drop of 350 meters. Setting out from Tateyama Station (立山駅), the gateway to the Alpine Route, the giant waterfall that comes into view at the end of the promenade is overwhelming in scale. In the afternoon, you can experience and learn about Tateyama's nature and history at the Tateyama Caldera Sabo Museum (立山カルデラ砂防博物館) and the Toyama Prefectural Tateyama Museum (富山県立山博物館). A plan perfect for nature-loving families who want to walk, look, and learn.
