
Sandan-kyō Kurofuchi and Noi Dam Gorge Trekking
A full-day trekking course to immerse yourself in the magnificent nature of the West Chugoku Mountains, centered around Sandan-kyō, a nationally designated Special Scenic Area. In the morning, stock up on freshly baked bread for breakfast and packed lunches for mountain walking at the roadside station Raum Togōchi, then head to Sandan-kyō. Walk along trails wrapped in primeval forest and take a ferry boat to reach Kurofuchi, a mysterious pool accessible only by water. In the afternoon, leisurely stroll through the grassy foothills of Shinnyuzan and discover the spectacular views of Ini Rice Terraces, Hiroshima's only selection for Japan's 100 Best Rice Terraces. The finale is the impressive Noi Dam, boasting one of Japan's tallest arch-style dam heights. A day of unforgettable scenery—traversing gorges, grasslands, rice terraces, and reservoir lakes—a nature lover's paradise.
