Sada Misaki: White Lighthouse and Windmill Hills - Peninsula Point Drive
This is the standard drive course through Japan's longest and narrowest peninsula, Sada Misaki, running all the way to its tip while viewing both the Seto Inland Sea and Uwa Sea on either side. After gathering current information at Michi no Eki Ikata Kirara-kan, head to Seto-kaze no Oka Park where white windmills line the ridge. At Sada Misaki Hanahana in Misaki Port, you'll find the signature shirasu don made with freshly boiled whitebait. The highlight is the pristine white Sada Misaki Lighthouse standing at Shikoku's westernmost point. The spectacular view of Kyushu beyond the Toyoyo Strait is a reward only for those who walk the footpath. On the way back, search for seafood souvenirs at Michi no Eki Yawatahama Minatto. Even for first-time visitors to Sada Misaki, this is a condensed day of sights that's easy to enjoy without getting lost.
