Ebino, Ebino Plateau and Ikoma Plateau Kirishima Panorama Highland Drive
A highland drive course that runs along the foothills of the Kirishima mountain range in the southwestern part of Miyazaki Prefecture. In the morning, preview the natural wonders of Kirishima at the Ebino Eco-Museum Center before heading to Ebino Plateau at approximately 1,200 meters elevation. Walk the trails through grasslands of Japanese pampas grass and azalea-filled paths, gazing up at the peaks of the Kirishima range, including the highest peak, Karakunidake. At lunch, enjoy local rice and pork dishes at Michi no Eki Ebino while taking in sweeping views of the Kirishima range. In the afternoon, experience the seasonal flower fields blooming against Kirishima's backdrop at Flower Station Ikoma Plateau in Kobayashi City, and savor the signature flower soft-serve ice cream. The day concludes at Denozan Park, where Japan's Top 100 Pure Waters spring forth. Stroll along the spring water pond and meet sturgeons swimming gracefully in the freshwater aquarium—a day where sky, flowers, and water shimmer across the highlands.
