Motobu: A Day Meeting Whale Sharks at Churaumi Aquarium and Strolling Through the Fukugi Tree-Lined Path in Bise
A one-day course to meet the stars of the sea in the Motobu Peninsula, northern Okinawa Main Island. At the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium first thing in the morning, you cannot help but gasp at the sight of whale sharks gliding through the giant "Kuroshio Sea" tank. For lunch, enjoy authentic Okinawa soba made with wood-ash-prepared homemade noodles and a clear bonito broth at the long-established Kishimoto Food Hall. In the afternoon, stroll through the verdant tunnel of approximately 20,000 fukugi trees lining the Bise lane, then rest at Emerald Beach in the Marine Expo Park, admiring the white sand and the silhouette of Ie Island. To conclude, cross the Seko Bridge to Seko Beach. Watch as the pristine sea turns to sunset hues—from the blue of the aquarium to the green of the fukugi trees to the emerald of the sea. Here is a full day that gathers all the colors of the Motobu Peninsula, bringing smiles to the whole family.
