2026 Morioka Fireworks Festival Full-Day Course
A full-day course to enjoy all of Iwate's prefectural capital, Morioka, centered on the Morioka Fireworks Festival (盛岡花火の祭典) held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 (a national holiday). In the afternoon, savor the views of stone walls and greenery at Iwate Park (Morioka Castle Ruins Park), then leisurely stroll through the historic city center where long-established shops gather. In the evening, cool off at the riverside park along the Kitakami River while enjoying an early dinner, then as dusk falls, move to the riverbed below Tonan Bridge to gaze at the large fireworks illuminating the Kitakami River's surface. Fireworks viewed from the riverside while bathed in the Kitakami River's breeze are a symbolic summer tradition of Morioka.
