2026 Yonabaru Otsunaiki Festival Full-Day Course
A full-day course to fully enjoy the Yonabaru area of southern Okinawa's main island, with the Yonabaru Otsunaiki Festival (scheduled for August 15-16, 2026) as the centerpiece. The festival carries on the traditional tug-of-war ceremony that has continued since the Ryukyu Kingdom era, with teams divided east and west, and fireworks lighting up the summer night. In the afternoon, visit spots to feel Okinawa's history and nature; by evening, enjoy a meal at Yonako Hama Park while catching the sea breeze. As night falls, the Godensanyama Youth Plaza (御殿山青少年広場) and Yonako Hama Park become the stage for experiencing the heat of the traditional event and fireworks blooming in the night sky. A course unique to southern Okinawa, packing the history of the Ryukyu Kingdom, seaside scenery, and the vitality of local festivals into a single day.
