2026 Nagahama, Kita-Biwako Grand Fireworks Festival (Nagahama Camp) — A Full One-Day Course
Centered on the Nagahama-Kita-Biwako Grand Fireworks Festival (Nagahama Camp), held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, this is a full-day course that lets you enjoy the history and lakeside scenery of Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture. In the afternoon, enjoy glasswork and a stroll through Nagahama Kurokabe Square, which still carries the flavor of a Sengoku-era castle town, then visit the Nagahama Castle History Museum, connected to Toyotomi Hideyoshi. In the evening, take your time filling up on food at the lakeshore of Hoko Park while watching the sun set over Lake Biwa. Once the sun goes down and the surface of Lake Biwa turns indigo, look up from Hoko Park's Jiyu Hiroba (Free Plaza) as fireworks launch from offshore on the lake. This is a one-day plan unique to autumn in Nagahama, letting you enjoy the historic castle town, Lake Biwa's night view, and grand bursts of fireworks all at once.
