2026 Shimanto Citizen Festival Cool Evening Fireworks Festival - Full Day Experience Course
On August 29, 2026 (Saturday), centered around the Shimanto Citizen Festival Cool Evening Fireworks Festival, this is a full-day course to enjoy the entire experience along the Shimanto River, Japan's last pristine stream. In the afternoon, visit nearby locations such as the Todorokizaki Sunken Bridge and Nakamura Castle Ruins (Local History Museum) from the heart of Shimanto City to experience landscapes and history characteristic of Shimanto. In the evening, taste local cuisine at a roadside station along the river, then move to the festival square at the base of the Red Iron Bridge to secure your viewing spot. As the sun sets, approximately 6,000 fireworks bloom one after another above the Shimanto River, and the flickering light reflected on the water surface colors the summer night. A plan to fully experience Shimanto's summer where the natural beauty of the clear stream and the festive energy of citizens' celebration become one.
