2026 Nebama Beach (根浜海岸海水浴場) Full-Day Course
A course that takes in Kamaishi's (釜石) sea and its rebuilt town in a single day, starring Nebama Beach (根浜海岸海水浴場), open from Saturday 18 July to Sunday 23 August 2026. In the morning, visit the Miraikan Connecting Lives museum (いのちをつなぐ未来館), which conveys the memory of the Great East Japan Earthquake and the path of recovery, then stand on the Rugby World Cup stage at the adjoining Kamaishi Unosumai Memorial Stadium (釜石鵜住居復興スタジアム). At lunch, savour Sanriku (三陸) seafood at Unosato Exchange Hall (鵜の郷交流館), and once you are refuelled it is on to Nebama Beach. The quiet sands, wrapped in pine woods and white shore, come with barrier-free parking, changing rooms and paid hot showers, and an adjoining campsite and rest house where you can pause for breath. Play in the water at your own pace and soak up Kamaishi's summer until evening. The distances are manageable even with children, making this a day that offers both learning and swimming. The nature and history of Sanriku, and the sea — why not head for Nebama Beach in Kamaishi this summer.
