2026 Natsu Matsuri Izumi Crane Soaring Festival Fireworks Display: A Full-Day Course
This course, centered on the Natsu Matsuri Izumi Crane Soaring Festival Fireworks Display (夏祭りいずみ鶴翔祭花火大会) held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, around Izumi Sports Park (出水運動公園) in Bunka-machi, Izumi City, Kagoshima Prefecture, lets you enjoy a historic townscape and festival for a full day. At noon, stroll through the Izumi-fumoto Samurai Residences (出水麓武家屋敷群), designated a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, and walk along streets that still carry the atmosphere of the Edo period. Stop by the neighboring Izumi-fumoto History Museum (出水麓歴史館) to learn about the history of the samurai residences. In the afternoon, spend time being active or taking a break in the shade of the trees at Izumi Sports Park, also the fireworks venue. In the evening, have dinner at the venue amid the festival food stalls, secure a spot, and wait for the show to begin. From 8:00 PM, fireworks shoot up one after another into the night sky over Izumi. This is a quintessential Izumi plan: spend the day savoring a historic samurai town, then close the night with festival fireworks. The roads around the area get crowded on the day of the fireworks display, so plan to arrive early.
