2026 Nikaho Fireworks: A Full-Day Course
This full-day course centers on the 2026 Nikaho Fireworks, held from 7:30 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2026, and lets you fully enjoy Kisakata, Nikaho City. At midday, enjoy lunch and shopping at Michi-no-Eki Kisakata Nemu no Oka (道の駅象潟ねむの丘), which overlooks the sea, and in the afternoon, stroll through the tranquil rural scenery of Kujukushima (九十九島), a scenic spot associated with the poet Matsuo Basho. Nearby, at the historic temple Kanman-ji (蚶満寺), you can also enjoy a historical stroll through the quiet temple grounds. In the evening, return to Kisakata Beach (象潟海水浴場), the fireworks venue, and stake out a spot while browsing the food stalls, and by 7:30 pm about 3,500 fireworks will finally color the night sky. It's a well-rounded day plan that lets you enjoy a historical stroll and seaside fireworks all in one.
