Awashima Shrine Natsukoshi Festival: A Full-Day Course

This full-day course centers on the 《Awashima Shrine Natsukoshi Festival》, which begins at sunset on July 31, 2026, at Awashima Shrine in Kada, Wakayama City. By day, start your stroll from the retro Kada Station, known for its sea bream motifs, and fully enjoy Kada's sea-framed scenery, including Takurasaki Lighthouse overlooking the Kii Channel and Jogasaki, known for its beautiful rocky shore. In the evening, enjoy the famous sea bream dishes at the Kada Fisheries Cooperative direct-sale shop to fuel up thoroughly. As the sun sets, head to Awashima Shrine, a nationally rare shrine that enshrines dolls and hina dolls, where the grounds will be wrapped in the lights of the Natsukoshi Festival. It's a day the family can slowly savor the sea breeze and quiet moments of prayer unique to a seaside town. Since crowds are also expected during the swimming season, remember to bring water and sun protection.
