2026 Himeshima Bon Odori One-Day Highlights Course

Set on Himeshima, an island floating in the Seto Inland Sea, this one-day course centers on the first day of the Himeshima Bon Odori, held from August 14 to 15, 2026. By day, take in the view from Himeshima Lighthouse (姫島灯台), walk the geologically valuable obsidian coast, and rest your feet at Hyoshimizu Onsen (拍子水温泉), known for its natural carbonated spring. In the evening, enjoy the island's famous kuruma prawns around the harbor, and at 17:00 the Bon dancing begins at the Central Plaza (Ferry Plaza) and at Bon-dance grounds throughout the island. It's a day the whole family can experience a summer night unique to Himeshima, where the whole small island dances as one.
