2026 Hyottoko Summer Festival Full Day Course in Hyuga
A one-day course centered on the first day of the "Hyuga Hyottoko Summer Festival" (July 31 – August 1, 2026; Akugare Square in front of JR Hyuga City Station and the city center), famous for its humorous Hyottoko dance. In the morning, stroll along Ogura Beach while enjoying the sea breeze, then spend time at the Ferris wheel and grassy lawns of Hyuga Sun Park. Next, explore the dramatic cliff scenery at Cape Hyuga: Kurasu Sea with its cross-shaped rock formations, and Umao-se with its 70-meter cliffs. At 3 PM, the festival venue comes alive in Akugare Square in front of JR Hyuga City Station, where dancers with humorous Hyottoko masks process through the streets.
