2026 Higashine Festival: A Full One-Day Course
This one-day course lets you fully enjoy the first day of the Higashine Festival (August 10-11, 2026, around Higashine City Hall), a festival that colors the summer of Higashine, the town of cherries. During the day, marvel at the Great Zelkova of Higashine, a Special National Natural Monument, visit the cherry-shaped Higashine Station building, and enjoy Higashine-style experiences at Sakuranbo Tanto-kan and Tantokuru Center. After an early dinner in the city center, at 18:30 the area around City Hall finally becomes the festival stage. The Tanabata Lantern Procession, carrying countless lanterns through the streets, is a fantastical sight that brings Higashine's summer to a close.
