2026 Sanuki Takamatsu Festival Full-Day Course
A one-day course centered on the first day of the "Sanuki Takamatsu Festival" (August 12-14, 2026), one of Shikoku's largest-scale events. Daytime takes you to Ritsurin Park, a nationally-designated special scenic spot, where you explore the circuit-style garden, then to Tamamo Park at the former castle site to learn about the history of the seawater castle floating in the Seto Inland Sea, and finally to Shikoku Village Museum to explore historic farmhouse clusters. After an early dinner at the Marugame-machi shopping arcade in the evening, the night brings the mass dance performance at Sanport Takamatsu. The sight of dancers moving in formation chanting "O-re, rya-re" is a powerful finale to summer in Takamatsu, a port town on the Seto Inland Sea. With gardens and history walks in the daytime and the vibrant energy of the mass dance at night, you experience the full appeal of Takamatsu in one memorable day.
