2026 Yoshidagawa Riverside Promenade (吉田川親水遊歩道) Full-Day Course
A one-day course centred on the Yoshidagawa Riverside Promenade (吉田川親水遊歩道), laid out along the clear Yoshida River (吉田川) in Hachiman-cho, Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture. Gujo Hachiman is known as the town of water, and the transparent flow of the Yoshida River is the town symbol. The morning starts at Gujo Hachiman Castle (郡上八幡城), where the wooden reconstructed keep offers a superb view over the castle town. Next, walk the old streets of Shokunin-machi and Kajiya-machi (職人町・鍛冶屋町), an atmospheric quarter laced with water channels. At midday, stop at the Gujo Hachiman Former Town Hall Memorial Hall (郡上八幡旧庁舎記念館) for a rest and some local food. Once everyone is full, the afternoon moves to the Yoshidagawa Riverside Promenade, where playing in the clear stream is the climax of the day. Diving from Shinbashi Bridge (新橋) is a well-known local tradition, but small children can play safely in the shallows along the promenade. Enjoy a family summer day that only the water town of Gujo Hachiman can offer.
