2026 Aomori City Sports Park Wakuwaku Hiroba Waterside Plaza (青森市スポーツ公園わくわく広場 親水広場) Full-Day Course

A course for a full day of play close to home, starring Aomori City Sports Park Wakuwaku Hiroba Waterside Plaza with its fountain and water channel (青森市スポーツ公園わくわく広場 親水広場(噴水・水流れ)) in Aomori City. At the waterside plaza inside this spacious 6.2-hectare park, you can enjoy summer water play with the fountain and the water channel. Use is free. Water play is not the only attraction. There is a large combination playground modelled on Aomori landmarks, a long slide and a suspension bridge, plus a wide natural turf lawn, so you can switch to the playground when the water gets old and to the lawn when you get tired. There are two restroom buildings, so even families with small children can relax. The 2026 opening period has not been announced yet; in most years the water runs to coincide with the summer holidays. From January to March the area is closed due to snow. In the morning, tour Moya Hills (モヤヒルズ) spreading at the foot of Hakkoda and the Aomori Contemporary Art Centre (国際芸術センター青森) standing in the forest, savour the highland air that differs a little from the city centre, and then close the day with water play in the afternoon.
