2026 Mita Park Water Play Area: A Full Day of Fun

A seaside neighborhood outing built around the Mita Park Water Play Area (箕田公園) in Mita Park (箕田公園), Suzuka City, overlooking Ise Bay. According to Suzuka City's Water Feature Operation Information (as of June 2026), the fountain and other water features begin running on Wednesday, June 10, with water flowing between 10:00 and 17:00. Use is free, and Suzuka City lists a water play area among the park's facilities. The park faces the Shimomita Coast, and the charm unique to this spot is the view over the horizon of Ise Bay from the wooden-deck observation fort. There is also an adventure fort, a multipurpose lawn plaza, a slide, swings and a sandpit, so you can move between water play and outdoor play all day long. In the morning, take a trip to the towns of Shiroko and Wakamatsu to visit the memorial museum for Daikokuya Kodayu, the ship captain who drifted to Russia and made it home, and the museum of the traditional craft of Ise katagami stencils. Once you know the background of this land of sea and history, the same scenery should look a little different. The water features stop at 17:00, so arrive at the park early to leave plenty of afternoon play time. The facility is scheduled to be shut down for cleaning on Monday, August 10, so plan around that one day.
