2026 Higata Yoka Park (干潟よか公園) Splash Pool Full-Day Course

This full-day local outing centers on the Higata Yoka Park Splash Pool (じゃぶじゃぶ池) in Higashiyoka, Saga City, right in front of the Ariake Sea tidal flats. In 2026, the Splash Pool, a children's pool where swimwear is welcome in summer, is open from Saturday, April 25 through Wednesday, September 30. The park is open 9:00-17:00, closed on Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a holiday) and during the New Year holidays. Admission is free, and the park packs a wide variety of play areas into one place: a large combination playground with a free-fall slide, the boat-shaped play equipment 'Ryofu-maru' (凌風丸), a steam-locomotive-shaped play structure, a zip line, a lawn plaza, a grass ski slope, and a novelty bicycle plaza. The novelty bicycles cost 300 yen for adults and 200 yen for children, and the grass ski slope also charges a fee, but everything else can be enjoyed all day at no cost. In the morning, visit the neighboring East Yoka Tidal Flat visitor center to learn about the tidal flat ecosystem, one of Japan's leading stopover sites for sandpipers and plovers. From the promenade along the seawall, you can take in the vast Ariake Sea tidal flats, whose look changes completely with the rise and fall of the tide. At midday, spread out a picnic on the park's lawn plaza, enjoy the playground equipment, then head to the Splash Pool in the afternoon. This course, unique to the area, lets you connect the tidal flat sea and the park's water play in a single day.
