2026 Nagayama Memorial Park Water Play Area Full-Day Course
Nagayama Memorial Park (永山記念公園) sits on the east side of Sapporo, in a corner where the history of the pioneer era still runs deep. The shallow water play area inside the park becomes the summer haunt of local children. The Nagayama Memorial Park Water Play Area is open from Monday, June 29 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00, and use is free. A Meiji-era residence still stands right beside the park, and a short walk brings you to a red-brick beer museum and a large shopping center. This setting, where history and everyday life sit side by side, is the particular charm of the eastern part of Chuo Ward. In the morning, tour the Former Residence of Takeshiro Nagayama and Former Mitsubishi Mining Dormitory inside the park, where Japanese and Western styles share one building, then trace the path of Sapporo industry at the Sapporo Beer Museum. For lunch, take a proper break in the air conditioning at the adjoining Ario Sapporo. In the afternoon, change into swimwear, return to the park, and spend the rest of the day in the shallow water play area. Since the route can be covered by subway and a little walking, it is easy to plan even without a car.
