2026 Miyanomori Suginoko Park Water Play Area: A Full Day Course

On the west side of Maruyama, in the green, hilly residential district of Miyanomori, stands Miyanomori Suginoko Park. The shallow water area inside it, the Miyanomori Suginoko Park Water Play Area, is open from Monday, June 29 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00, and use is free. It is not a large facility, but there are no crowds, and letting a small child get used to water at their own pace is exactly what an in-town water play area is good for. This day links the quiet cultural sites unique to Miyanomori with the woods of Maruyama. In the morning, visit the Hongo Shin Memorial Museum of Sculpture, calling at the building that served as the sculptor's workplace and studio and touring the works placed outdoors. Next, pay your respects at Hokkaido Jingu Shrine and step away from the summer heat on the approach through the deep woods. At midday, spread a sheet in the shade at Maruyama Park for a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, climb back up the slope to Miyanomori Suginoko Park and enjoy the water until evening.
