2026 Full-Day Course: Kinsei Park Wading Pool (金星公園 徒渉池)
Close to central Asahikawa, Kinsei Park (金星公園) is home to a wading pool where the splashing sounds of children fill the air each summer. The Kinsei Park Wading Pool (金星公園 徒渉池) is a free water play spot open from Monday, June 1 through Monday, August 31, 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00. The venue is Kinsei Park in Asahikawa City, and since the wading pool is shallow, even children who have just learned to walk can play within arm's reach of a parent. The charm of this course is that it lets you experience Asahikawa's distinctive city layout in a single day: Tokiwa Park (常磐公園) is within walking distance, and the Hokkaido Asahikawa Museum of Art (北海道立旭川美術館) stands right inside it. In the morning, start at the museum and get a sense, through its artworks, of how Asahikawa has long nurtured a culture of wood. After that, walk along the shore of Chidorigaike Pond (千鳥ケ池) in Tokiwa Park and take a break in the breeze off the water. For lunch, slurp thin, curly noodles at Baikoken Main Store (梅光軒 本店), a celebrated Asahikawa ramen shop. In the afternoon, change into swimwear and head to the Kinsei Park Wading Pool (金星公園 徒渉池) to play to your heart's content until closing at 17:00. The pool may close due to weather or water-quality maintenance, so it's a good idea to check Asahikawa City's announcements before heading out.
