2026 Higashitakeda Neighborhood Park Water Play Plaza (東竹田近隣公園 親水広場) Full-Day Course
A course built around Higashitakeda Neighborhood Park Water Play Plaza (東竹田近隣公園 親水広場) in Kashihara City, for a full day of play close to home. The city's official information states that in summer you can enjoy water play at the water plaza; the opening period has not been announced, but it is usually available during the summer season. Admission is free, and after the water you can switch between a large combination play structure for elementary-school children and up and a smaller one for toddlers. There is also an inclusive swing that can be used while seated in a wheelchair, so the park is designed for all kinds of children to play together. Counting the multipurpose plaza, the lawn plaza and the landscaped pond, the park covers 19,855 square meters, so you can pick a shady spot, lay out a picnic sheet and take your time. The dome-shaped sports facility Kashihara Green Dome next door is reassuring too. In the morning, walk the Fujiwara Palace Site (藤原宮跡), the remains of Japan's first full-scale capital, and check the size of that capital on a model at the Fujiwara-kyo Archive Room (藤原京資料室). Have a relaxed lunch in the shade at Mount Miminashi Park (耳成山公園), at the foot of Mount Miminashi (耳成山), one of the Three Mountains of Yamato. Then spend the afternoon splashing to your heart's content at the water plaza.
