2026 Ishin Hyakunen Memorial Park Wading Pool Full-Day Course
This is a summer-vacation day course starring the Ishin Hyakunen Memorial Park Wading Pool, a shallow water-play area in Ishin Hyakunen Memorial Park (維新百年記念公園) in Yamaguchi City. In 2026 (Reiwa 8) it is open from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, August 31, from 10:00 to 18:00. It is a separate water-play facility from the Ikoi Water Plaza in the same park, and since the open periods and closed days differ, the important point is to check first whether the pool you want is open that day. The wading pool is shallow, so even children who are just starting to walk can enjoy the feeling of moving through the water on their own feet. Use is free, and small children should play with a guardian at their side. In the morning, see the works at the Yamaguchi Prefectural Art Museum (山口県立美術館) and walk to the St. Francis Xavier Memorial Church in Kameyama Park (亀山公園) to enjoy scenery unique to the town of Yamaguchi. In the afternoon, touch the traces of the Meiji era at Yamaguchi City Saikotei (菜香亭), a relocated former traditional restaurant, then return to the park for water play until evening. It is closed all day on Thursdays and also closes in bad weather such as heavy rain, so check the official website before you set out. Note too that pets are not allowed when you plan your trip.
