2026 Full-Day Course at Gifu World Rose Garden, Mist Prelude Water Play Area
A full-day neighborhood outing course built around the Mist Prelude Water Play Area at Gifu World Rose Garden (formerly Hana Festa Memorial Park) in Kani City. At the garden's Mist Prelude, a summer-only splash zone combines water features with mist. The 2026 operating period has not been announced, so be sure to check the official website before you set out. Admission is charged, but it is free for high school students and younger - a welcome pricing setup for families. Fufufu Square inside the garden has a fountain that runs from around April 29 to around the end of October, between 10:30 and 16:00, switching on for 10 minutes once every 30 minutes; combined with the bouncy dome and the large combination play structure, children can move back and forth between water and play equipment. In the morning, head out to the Kukuri district and visit the Kani City Sengoku Mountain Castle Museum, which tells the story of the mountain castles of Higashi-Mino, then walk the Kukuri Castle Ruins that stand right in front of it. The view down over the valley from the castle site explains why a mountain castle was built here in the warring-states era. After lunch, return to the garden, play on the equipment for a while, and then move on to the water. A distinctly Kani way to spend a day, linking history and water play together.
