2026: A Full Day at the Water Play Area, Sunami Seaside Park, Mihara
From Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, August 23, 2026, the Water Play Area (Fountain) opens at Sunami Seaside Park in Mihara. Hours are 9:00 to 17:00, and the adjacent toddler pools (50 cm and 70 cm deep) open at the same time. The water play area is shallow at about 10 cm deep and has a fountain, which makes it just right for a child's first taste of water play. The toddler pool next door has a small slide, so slightly older children can enjoy themselves there too. Sunami Seaside Park is a barrier-free park with a ramp leading all the way down to the sand, which makes it easy to get around with a stroller, a major plus. The Seto Inland Sea spreads out right in front of you, so you can spend the day enjoying the beauty of its many islands. This course starts by taking in the stone walls and moat at the Mihara Castle Ruins in front of Mihara Station. Next you climb to the observation deck on Mount Fudekage, looking down on the islands of the Seto Inland Sea and fixing the whole seascape in your memory before heading to the park. After a lunch box on the sand, spend the afternoon playing in the water at the fountain play area.
