2026 Shintoshi No. 3 Park Water Play Area: Full-Day Course
This is a close-to-home one-day course starring the Shintoshi No. 3 Park (Shimanami Oka-no-shita Park) Water Play Area in Agata, Imabari City. Official Imabari City information states that this year the water play period runs until Monday, August 31, but the start date has not been announced, and in past years it has opened during the summer holidays. Check the official Imabari City page for the latest situation before you set out. This park is an open space developed in the Imabari Shintoshi area, where you can play in a newly built water channel. Use is free, so it is easy to drop by on a day when you want to cool off. In the morning, first visit Imabari Castle, counted among the three great water castles of Japan. The sight of sea bream and black sea bream swimming in a moat fed with seawater is a distinctly Imabari scene you will not find elsewhere. Have lunch in the cool at AEON Mall Imabari Shintoshi in the Imabari Shintoshi area, then in the afternoon head at last to the water channel. From the castle moat to the Seto Inland Sea and the park channel, this course traces water throughout the day. There is a warning that the channel is slippery, so make sure at least your footwear is properly prepared before you go.
